El Centro Guacamole

El Centro D.F. has launched a new Rooftop Happy Hour as well as a Late Night menu of Mexican comfort food.  Available nightly, El Centro’s Rooftop Happy Hour, from 5 PM to 7 PM, features $4 llibations and $6 specialty dishes that are available from 5 PM to 9 PM.  The happy hour $4 beverage roster include bottles of Bohemia, Corona, Corona Light, Dos XX Amber, Dos XX Lager and Tecate, house red or white wine, as well as select cocktails, the Seasonal Agua Fresca, Frambuesa Sangria and three choices of margaritas that are available frozen and on or off the rocks, such as the El Centro Margarita, Strawberry Margarita and the Mango Margarita.

The $6 small plates include dishes such as Guacamole, Shrimp Ceviche with citrus habanero broth, avocado and pico de gallo, and a selection of tacos (two per order), including Pork Carnitas with slow roasted pork shoulder, pickled onion and spicy habanero salsa, Chicken Tinga with cilantro, onion, lime and chile de arbol, Grilled Steak with onion, cilantro and salsa verde and Grilled Nopal, cactus, market vegetables, chayote, queso fresco and salsa roja.

On the late night tip from 11 PM to 2 AM, El Centro offers a special menu inspired by Mexican street food, with every item priced at $6 and available in the Taqueria.  It features a variety of tacos (two per order), burritos and tortas, as well as Guacamole & Chips ideal for sharing.  Highlights from the Late Night menu include Al Pastor tacos, with adobo marinated pork belly, grilled pineapple, cilantro, onion and salsa verde; Beef Barbacoa burrito, brisket with Mexican rice, crema fresca and refried beans; Pork Carnitas, slow-roasted pork shoulder, pickled onion, tomato, lettuce, black bean puree, habanero, mustard, chipotle ketchup and ancho fries and Steak tortas, with caramelized onions, tomato, guacamole, Mexican cheeses, ancho aioli, chipotle ketchup and ancho fries.
