Manuel Iguina, owner of Mio Restaurant, located at 1110 Vermont Ave., NW, 20005, is pleased to welcome his good friend and guest chef Wilo Benet.  Benet is the chef/owner of the award-winning Pikayo restaurant.  Benet will visit the nation’s capital June 9th-16th as a guest chef at Mio Restaurant.  He will be introducing new contemporary dishes that will be featured as a la carte specials throughout the week leading up to his Father’s Day brunch menu on Sunday, June 15th.  Father’s Day Brunch will be served from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.  Prices range from $14 to $30.  Mio Restaurant is located at 1110 Vermont Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20005.  The restaurant is open Monday through Friday, from 11:30 AM to 10 PM and Saturday, from 5 PM to 11 PM.  Brunch is served Sunday, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.  For reservations please call (202) 955-0075 and more information can be found at www.miorestaurant.com.

City Tap House, located in the new City Center at 901 9th Street, NW, 20001, will be serving their regular a la carte brunch and dinner on Sunday, June 15th with two additional specials.  For brunch, Dads can enjoy “The Big Chick”, fried chicken smothered in sausage gravy topped with bacon and a fried egg on a buttermilk biscuit bun for $16.  Then, for dinner, Dads can try the Grilled 16oz Porterhouse served with lobster mac and cheese, bacon braised Brussels sprouts, and béarnaise sauce for $36.  Dads who order the grilled 16oz porterhouse during dinner service will receive one complimentary draft beer of their choice.

Copperwood Tavern, Shirlington Village’s farm-to-table restaurant located at 4021 Campbell Avenue, VA 22206, is whipping up a Father’s Day a la carte dinner served from 5 to 10 PM on Sunday, June 15th.  The menu prepared by Executive Chef Allan Javery includes beef dishes with suggested spirit pairings.  Menu highlights include the Bison Chop: 14 ounce bone-in rib-eye, house-seasoned and grilled ($31); Ossabaw Pork Chop: 12 ounce double-cut maple brined Ossabaw Island pork with coco-chili rub and rhubarb currant chutney ($21); NY Strip: 12 ounce grilled grass fed and house-seasoned steak ($28), and the Venison Chop: 10 ounce coffee-coco rubbed chop with blackberry compote ($31).  These a la carte proteins can be enhanced with “shared sides,” such as the Fingerling Potatoes ($8); Beer-Butter Mushrooms ($8); Truffle Macaroni and Cheese ($10), and Grilled Asparagus ($8).

On Sunday, June 15, 2014, Odyssey Cruises is inviting families to pamper their pops on the water with one-of-a-kind brunch and dinner cruise experiences. Cruise-goers have the option of booking and enjoying an early brunch cruise priced at $69.90 per adult and $41.95 per child (ages 3 -12) that boards at 9:15am, and cruises from 10:00am – Noon, an afternoon brunch priced at $74.90 per adult and $44.95 per child (ages 3 -12) that boards at 1:15pm, and cruises from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, or a dinner cruise priced at $97.90 per adult and $58.95 per child (ages 3 -12) that boards at 6:00pm, and cruises from 7:00pm to 9:30pm. For an early start, enjoy the Father’s Day Lunch Cruise, priced at $59.90 per adult, and $35.95 per child (ages 3-12), guests will board at 10:30am, and cruise from 11:00am to 1:00pm. For those looking to wine and dine Dad’s later in the day, guests can enjoy a Father’s Day Early Dinner Cruise. Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar, located in City Center at 801 9th Street (corner of H Street), NW, 20001, is pouring a special treat for Dad this Father’s Day.  Fathers who dine at the restaurant during dinner service beginning at 4 PM on Sunday, June 15th will receive a complimentary snifter of Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum with the purchase of selected dinner entrees.  Fathers will also receive a complimentary Montecristo cigar as an added take home gift.

A La Lucia will celebrate Dad on Sunday, June 15th with 25% off all bottles of wine.  Additionally, the Old Town Alexandria restaurant will be offering a three course dinner option priced at $35/person. The multi-course menu features signature favorites, fresh seasonal specials and Italian classics.  Diners will choose one item from each category (appetizer, entrée, dessert).

For an early Father’s Day dinner, Saturday Supper at Art and Soul is on June 14th. Executive Chef Wes Morton has put together a Texas Barbecue, and they’re partnering with Jester King Brewery in Austin.  Guests will feast on slow smoked and roasted brisket, pork ribs, chopped pork, spicy smoked sausage and whole smoked chicken, along with sides and drink pairings.
