Where to Host the Next Group Dinner

20160609_204433Tysons Corner has become the hub for a growing food scene and contemporary living in this area of Northern Virginia.  Insomuch as it is becoming the epicenter, it is attracting Downtown city dwellers to the thriving area with events such as the Lagunitas Brewing Co. Beer Dinner.  Recently, I revisited Wildfire Steaks, Chops & Seafood, which I like because of its familiar dishes and cozy atmosphere of dim lights and moderate levels of conversation.  On this visit, I attended the Lagunitas Brewing Co. Beer Dinner, which featured among others “A Little Sumpin’ Sumpin” (Smooth and Silky Beer) and “Lucky 13” (a red ale).

Besides gaining a new appreciation for a beverage I generally skip during happy hour, I appreciated the crowd at this event.  Folks looking to enjoy a several something course menu while learning and sipping on a new libation.  Larry Michael, the “Voice of the Washington Redskins as well as the TV host for the Redskins Broadcast Network, kicked off the dinner with a behind the scenes look into the Washington football team.  For $55 (plus tax, gratuity not included) per person, this was not a bad deal for a night out on the town.

20160609_200121If beer is not really your thing, I would suggest trying another one of these dinners.  They are school, supper and happy hour all-in-one with fellow connoisseurs looking for the same experience.  Upcoming dinners to consider are the Crab & Beer Dinner with Union Craft Brewing & John Shields (love this guy!  He is truly the crab man) and the Barboursville Vineyards Wine Dinner.  The tables are set up for 6-8 people so I would suggest getting a group of friends together to monopolize a table.
