The Pink Line Project and Chef Barton Seaver team up for Green: On Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 6 pm-10 pm, Pink Line and Chef Seaver will host Cuisine Contra: Green is Delicious, featuring a cocktail reception and 3-course dinner with recipes provided by Chef Seaver. A portion of the proceeds will go to helping DC Greenworks build more green roofs in Washington, DC. Tickets can be purchased here.

Food & Friends host 21^st Annual Chef’s Best Dinner & Auction on June 27, 2011 @ the Washington Hilton. More than 50 of the area’s top chefs will come together and serve up special tastings of their signature dishes to raise monies for Food & Friends. Tickets are $250 for individuals or $2,250 for a table host and can be purchased here. Look forward to seeing your area favorites such as Eric Ziebold (*CityZen), R.J. Cooper (*Rogue 24) and Anthony Chittum (*Vermilion).

Sixth & I has been busy this spring and summer. After the launch of Sixth & Rye food truck this spring, the Synagogue is now hosting Jewish Cooking 101: Farmers’ Market Mealson Thursday June 16, 2011 @ 6:30 pm. Leah Koenig will lead the class in making eco-kosher Portobella mushroom burgers and basil two-bean salad. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased here.

Johnna French is a Harlem NY native with deep roots in Panama, Washington, DC and North Carolina. All four places have heavily influenced her life and the foods she loves today. After graduating Howard University School of Law and beginning her life as a young professional in the city she was led to start Johnna Knows Good Food in November 2007 to keep family, friends and colleagues updated on where to go and what to eat while dining in the nation’s capitol. French, who still practices law, leads a team of three writers to cover the ever expanding Washington, DC food scene. French has been featured in print and television, appearing in Washingtonian Magazine and is a regular contributor to various local TV affiliates including WUSA 9, FOX 5 DC and WJLA (ABC Affiliate) News Channel 8. During the 2016-2017 football season, Johnna aired on Comcast Sports Mid-Atlantic (CSN) show, Redskins Life, as the weekly tailgate host. Johnna is currently a regular contributor to the FOX Baltimore Weekend morning show.
