The RAMMY Awards Return!

The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) 40th Annual RAMMY Awards will return to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center as an in-person event on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

Anyone in the public can nominate and those in the industry can nominate themselves and others for the following 2022 RAMMY Awards categories. Visit www.therammys.org to submit nominations.

  • Formal Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year
  • Upscale Casual Restaurant of the Year
  • Casual Restaurant of the Year
  • New Restaurant of the Year
  • Wine Program of the Year
  • Cocktail Program of the Year
  • Beer Program of the Year
  • Service Program of the Year
  • Chef of the Year
  • Rising Culinary Star of the Year
  • Pastry Chef of the Year
  • Manager of the Year
  • Employee of the Year
  • Restaurateur of the Year

Publicly Voted Categories:

  • Favorite Gathering Place of the Year
  • Best Brunch of the Year
  • Favorite Fast Bites
  • Outstanding Pop-Up Concept
  • Standout Family Meal Packages To Go

RAMW has begun accepting online nominations for the above categories at www.therammys.org. Nominations will be accepted through Monday, February 28, at 11:59pm EST. Finalists will be announced at an invite-only event this April.

Johnna French is a Harlem NY native with deep roots in Panama, Washington, DC and North Carolina. All four places have heavily influenced her life and the foods she loves today. After graduating Howard University School of Law and beginning her life as a young professional in the city she was led to start Johnna Knows Good Food in November 2007 to keep family, friends and colleagues updated on where to go and what to eat while dining in the nation’s capitol. French, who still practices law, leads a team of three writers to cover the ever expanding Washington, DC food scene. French has been featured in print and television, appearing in Washingtonian Magazine and is a regular contributor to various local TV affiliates including WUSA 9, FOX 5 DC and WJLA (ABC Affiliate) News Channel 8. During the 2016-2017 football season, Johnna aired on Comcast Sports Mid-Atlantic (CSN) show, Redskins Life, as the weekly tailgate host. Johnna is currently a regular contributor to the FOX Baltimore Weekend morning show.
