This Weekend: 2016 DC VegFest

dcvf16-web-logoOrganized by Compassion Over Killing, the annual DC VegFest is back on September 24 from 11am-6pm at the Yards Park (adjacent to Nationals Stadium).

With more than 100 vendors and exhibitors this year, a few festival favorites will be returning such as Vegan Treats, Dr. Bronner’s soap makers, Craft Kombucha, and Daiya. Lookout for Savory Gal, a new vendor to the Fest that will be selling small batches of flavorful chutney.

This year also brought some new speakers to the festival which include:

– Leilani Münter, professional race car driver and environmental activist

– Marco Antonio Regil, actor and television host

– Elizabeth Kucinich, policy consultant at the Plant-Based Foods Association

– Torre Washington, award-winning vegan bodybuilder

– Jonathan Balcombe, animal behavior expert, and author of What a Fish Knows

Try to arrive early as the first 1000 attendees will receive a swag bag loaded with items from the sponsors.
