Everyone has mishaps in their schedule that can cause them to be late but it is the obnoxiously late individual that I’ll address in this week’s Etiquette Tuesday.  Ever had the friend who is always late for everything?  And not only late but we are talking about 30 minutes+ late??  You have to love them because they have something that has made your friendship/relationship last but their lateness is absolutely annoying.  For the late person:  Get a watch.

Time is of the essence.  Time is money.  Time is precious.  Ever heard any of these sayings??  Well, they are explicitly why you should be on time or at least within the 15 minute grace period that is allotted for restaurant reservations.  For the late person, you have to remember that person has a life too and probably one that is more busy than yours.  Wasting time waiting on a friend to show up can cause a domino effect for the rest of the day impending on others schedules.  What it boils down to is being inconsiderate when you can be considerate.

This Summer let us launch into being considerate of others.  Instead of waiting for you 30 minutes in the restaurant lobby, I could have been out admiring the sunshine…catch my drift??
