The holidays are here and there will be plenty of Etiquette tips after this year.  I can feel it.  Etiquette Tuesday returns this week with a holiday tip:  plan to eat.  What do I mean when I say plan to eat??  Have you ever had guests come to your house on one of the many holidays for a dinner party you have planned and then they tell you they have already eaten or do not want to eat??  Now to some this may be totally acceptable but for others who have tired themselves out over the stove to make an amazing meal, it may be a tad insulting or come off as rude.

I am not insulted by this when people come to my house and do not take a bite because I typically make dishes that I do not mind having as leftovers anyhow.  Selfish, I know, but I like to be prepared just in case the majority of my guest come over already well fed and only ready to sip on libations.  When I visit other peoples homes for dinner events, however, I always leave a little room for a side dish, dessert or chips and dip.  I want them to feel that their work did not go in vain and I am there to indulge in all their hard labor.  Just a thought, but what do you think?  Let’s discuss!
