Etiquette Tuesday: Loud!

The loud talker.  Everybody has one…that person that uses their outside voice on the inside at all times.  I recently visited a restaurant with a friend who is always awesome company but does not have discretion in using that inside voice.  I even tried to whisper/lower my tone so they would get the hint to lower their voice…no such luck.  Outside voices are perfectly fine when in a bar, loud restaurant, etc. but when the climate is low tone voices, you should consider doing the same.  I have never been a follower but this is an exception.  When in Rome do as Romans do especially when the conversation leads to explicit subjects such as your sexcapades and drunken episodes.  Typically, you are trying to keep what you are talking about at your table private, not broadcast it to the rest of the restaurant.
It all boils down to consideration for the other patrons sitting around you.  Dining out is, for the most part, a time to let your hair down but you also have to remember it operates much like any other public space:  you have to share.  Sharing includes avoiding devouring the open air space with your loud booming voice.  Anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that my octave level is well above the average but I make an effort to consider the people sitting around me.  With that being said:  Inside voices, please.
