Friendly Competition

A “Top Chef”-style competition will be held at the Stratford University, Falls Church Campus this Friday (*tomorrow, eek!).

Contest Details:  Eight teams of two, consisting of one culinary and one baking/pastry student.  Each student team will be given the same core ingredients to use to develop a unique dish for the competition.
 
A panel will judge the dishes and provide feedback.  Judges include:
·         Chef Rock Harper, Season 3 Winner of “Hell’s Kitchen”
·         Jordan Lichman, Dean of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management
·         Stratford University CFO John Dovi
·         Media Judge (*to be announced)

A limited number of people from the general public will be able to attend.  There is a $25 fee that includes tasting of entrees from 6 teams/12 dishes, iced tea, coffee and tea (*soda and wine available for an additional fee) and hors d’oeuvers.  Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the order in which the e-mail reservations are submitted to Chef Hatheway @ nhatheway@stratford.edu

When:   Friday October 1, 2010, 7 p.m.– 8 p.m. guests and judges arrive; 8 p.m. Entrees are presented, followed by desserts at 8:45 pm

Johnna French is a Harlem NY native with deep roots in Panama, Washington, DC and North Carolina. All four places have heavily influenced her life and the foods she loves today. After graduating Howard University School of Law and beginning her life as a young professional in the city she was led to start Johnna Knows Good Food in November 2007 to keep family, friends and colleagues updated on where to go and what to eat while dining in the nation’s capitol. During the 2016-2017 football season, Johnna aired on Comcast Sports Mid-Atlantic (CSN) show, Redskins Life, as the weekly tailgate host. Johnna is currently a regular contributor to the FOX Baltimore Weekend morning show.
