Oktobeerfest and A Scavenger Hunt

>Oktobeerfest is back.  Neighborhood Restaurant Group (*You know the folks behind Evening Star Cafe and Tallula in Northern, VA) is hosting its Fourth Annual “Oktobeerfest” on October 9, 2010 from 12 pm to 5 pm.  Think close to 30 seasonal beers, fresh squeezed lemonade and food galore.  For the kids there will be face painting, pumpkin decorating and cookie decorating. 

The Where:  Rustico at 827 Slaters Lane in Alexandria, VA. The non-profit organization viaVélo will be running bike cabs to and from the Braddock Metro Station, allowing guests the option of leaving their cars at home. Limited street parking is available.

>The New Vintage is hosting a Scavenger Hunt around the District.  On Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 2 pm-6 pm, teams of four (*or individuals) will scrounge the city searching through landmarks such as Madame Tussauds, the Spy Museum and Clyde’s Restaurant & Bar for clues to reach the final destination.  The winning team gets the bragging rights and a nifty little prize to take home. 

More Details:  Register in a team of four for $100 or as an individual for $25…Be creative with your team costume and let me give you a hint toward the first clue…”the lonely mouse sits close to the clock at midnight”…Just kidding, have fun and win!
