Etiquette Tuesday: Thank You!

[ 0 ] April 26, 2011 |

It’s been a couple of weeks since I posted an Etiquette Tuesday tip and that’s primarily because I had no content. That is until one of my loyal readers forwarded a good experience they had recently at a restaurant. I deemed it most appropriate to showcase on this week’s Etiquette Tuesday. First, I’ll pose a question to restaurants: Ever thought about attaching a thank you note to those to-go bags? Well, the Capital Grille has figured out a nice touch to their goodbyes that could be the difference between a single visit and a loyal customer.

After visiting the restaurant randomly based on the pure necessity of needing a good meal in transit, my reader shared how they now have a new outlook on the Capital Grille concept. A place often pigeon holed for being primarily the lobbyist crowd was able to make a non-Hill, Washingtonian food enthusiast leave feeling like this might be a new restaurant to put in regular rotation. The note (*pictured above) was attached to my readers to-go bag. Short. Sweet. Simple. Love it! What a way to make a patron feel good about dining in your restaurant and spending their hard earned money than a quick letter of gratitude. Honestly, I have never been a huge Capital Grille fan except for the occasional business lunch and such but after hearing about this, I may have to add it to my regular rotation. I mean who doesn’t like to be coddled and appreciated on a full stomach??…
