Happy Monday: Alero (DC)

[ 1 ] April 12, 2010 |

It’s funny that we have never mentioned this place before on our site. We have been here a million and one times, it’s almost like the McDonald’s of our drinking life. Alero has been a long time friend of ours primarily because of the cheap, tasty eats and drinks. With three locations in the District, you should make a trip to at least one for happy hour. Despite the fact that they all share the same name, they have different policies when it comes to happy hour so check before you go if you are expecting the same menu options/hours/etc. for each location.

For this post’s purpose, we will focus on the U street location which is an awesome way to start out a night on the town. Plenty of outdoor seating to people watch on U street and a happy hour that runs from 3:30-7:00 pm with a plethora of specials. The usual suspects make up the Mexican restaurants menu: nachos, rellenos and quesado. The drinks specials are perhaps the real draw during happy hour: Half Margerita Pitchers that start off @ $14.99, Mexican beers for $3.50 and Premium rails for $4.00. Hopefully, this week will be filled with plenty of sunshine and nice, light breezes so you can enjoy a nacho or two…Cheers!
