This and That…

>>>FREE and FRESH- Freshii has opened in the District. The new eatery, which began in Toronto, opened on Monday at 2001 M Street, NW. Freshii’s menu offers build-your-own salads, burritos, wraps, rice bowls, yogurts, and soups in a “build your own” format with ingredients from three categories: 24/7 – super low in fat, but high in fiber, essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and lean protein; balance – essential fats, slow-burning carbs, good oils, and high protein; and splurge – great flavors to be enjoyed in moderation. Freshii’s website allows visitors to create a virtual salad, wrap, rice bowl, or soup and instantly see the nutritional value of selected ingredients.
On Thursday, the store is celebrating its Grand Opening by offering all customers a FREE fat-free tart yogurt from 7 am-9 pm (*Regular Business Hours). Good way to introduce yourself to the District: FREE and FRESH.
>>>Wine Tastings- Tallula will begin weekly wine tastings on Saturdays from 1 pm to 3 pm starting April 10, 2010. The tastings will cost $20 and will include five wines and light, seasonal canapes. The following wines make the list for this Saturday’s tasting:

NV Lucien Albrecht Cremant d’Alsace, Sparkling Pinot Noir – Alsace, France
2008 William Fevre “Champs Royaux” Chardonnay – Chablis, France
2008 Edmond St. John “Heart of Gold” Grenache Blanc blend – Central Coast California
2007 Adelsheim Pinot Noir – Willamette Valley, Oregon
2008 Mauritson Zinfandel – Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma

Wine on a Spring Saturday afternoon sounds like a plan.
