Out and About:

>New cookbook, new exhibit- Chef Michel Richard (*Owner of Citronelle and Central) has a new cookbook on the stands and a new menu created for the Garden Cafe Francais at the National Gallery of Art. Chef Richards new cookbook, Happy in the Kitchen, features various recipes, tips in the kitchen and small blurbs about what inspired each section of the book. The main influence on the cookbook is the masterpieces of French impressionist paintings in the exhibition, From Impressionism to Modernism: The Chester Dale Collection. The exhibit is dedicated to the works collected by Wall Street Investor Chester Dale and his wife, Maud, whom had a renowned talent and passion for choosing masterpieces in the history of art. The menu features tasty little treats such as “faux gras”-Richard’s chicken liver mousse- and chocolate mousse. We had the opt to check out both but unfortunately never made it to the exhibit (*we were eating, of course). We heard the exhibit was great (*via Mango & Tomato) and we know the cookbook is an eye catcher. Food and art that taste good together:-)
