TWO Giveaways! JKGF readers, today it pays to be a subscriber, reader, skimmer, unique visitor or whatev to JKGF because…we have Free tickets to two cool events in the District:

1. Save the Deli: In Search of Perfect Pastrami, Crusty Rye and the Heart of Jewish Delicatessen is coming to the District on October 21, 2009. David Sax will be in the building discussing what he found on his journey for good delis: how it’s made, who makes the best and where to go for particular dishes…Yum. This event is $6 but we have 4 tickets available for you if you can submit the most creative, deli sandwich. We are keeping submissions open until October 20, 2009 so get them in! (*Countdown now…you have 20 days!)

2. The Sugarloaf Craft Festival is coming to Gaithersburg on October 9-11 and will return on November 20-22. The first show will be at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds and will feature over 250 artists alongside (*of course) good, gourmet goodies. In November, they will up the ante with over 350 artists coming to this festival. We like art, but we love food so of course we needed to know who and what would be cooking at the festival. Among the foodie lineup are Deedee Desserts, Leonard Mountain Gourmet Foods, Ron and Frank’s Gourmet Drink Mixes (*sounds like Yum), Rohini’s Chutneys (*sounds like more Yum, we love chutney) and Berkshire Sweet Gold Maple. There will be plenty of free samples and more foodie stuff. Where you come in to get some free tickets: Shoot us an email, the first readers to respond will receive tickets to the festival.
