Product to Watch: Monat

[ 0 ] July 8, 2015 |

Doubt is the best word to describe how I felt when Lisa Shapiro first approached me about Monat.  A hair product that could provide maximum benefits for her hair and my hair??  I did not believe it.  Lisa and I have total opposite textures of hair.  I took the product reluctantly and can admit now that I shelved it for a while because I still had so many doubts on what benefits it could actually provide for my hair.  One day my Shea Moisture shampoo ran out, visiting Target was not in my near future and Monat was looking me dead in the face in my medicine cabinet.  I took the bait.

Do you remember those Herbal Essence commercials?  The ones with so much “emotion”?  That is the exact reaction I had trying Monat.  How a small drop of shampoo could produce so much lather and not contain parabens was baffling to me.  The most surprising part of this process was not the actual shampooing and conditioning of the hair, it was the aftermath.  My hair was incredibly soft.  A little about my hair:  It is a band of thick, coarse, curly strands of hair that feels a tad brittle without the slightest touch of oil.  Monat shampoo/conditioning system softened my hair to thick, soft curly strands that are more manageable.

The Rejuveniqe oil was dessert for an already great meal.  My hair did not need any oil to continue the moisterizing process, but the oil gave it the final boost of shine.  Monat boasts the ability to help your hair grow.  I, however, cannot vouch for its ability to grow your hair where I have used the product for a short period of time.  Check back with me by the end of the year…I can assure you this is a product I plan to keep in my beauty routine.
