Rockville Restaurant Week

This week starts another Restaurant Week.  Rockville, MD is taking part in the weekly deals that offer restaurant patrons discounted prices for 2-3 course meals.  Now I love venturing to Rockville on the weekends, mostly for the cheap deals I can get on Rockville Pike.  When I got word of Rockville’s restaurant, I decided it was time to venture outside of my comfort zone and see what else Rockville had to offer.

After visiting Nick’s Chophouse (*which is neatly tucked in Rockville, you would never know about this place unless you got word of it…), I now know that Rockville does have some tasty delicacies worth zipping around the Beltway to enjoy.  The Disclaimer comes in here.  I cannot vouch for the service you will get out here.  Besides the manager at Nick’s, it seemed as if the restaurant staff was not interested in receiving new patrons (*extended wait at the door when almost all of the tables were empty, waitress retorted all of the items on the menu would be offered for Restaurant Week when in fact it was only three items…I digress…).  The savory flavors of the beef medallions and shrimp on a bed of whipped mashed potatoes gave me a slight case of amnesia.  I left the restaurant feeling that the food was well worth the trek up 270-North but the service needs some tweaking if pulling in new customers is the goal.

Funny, I have spent countless weekends on the Pike (*Translation:  Rockville Pike) and I never really thought about there being a world outside of this extensive strip of discount stores, malls and chain restaurants.  I welcome the newest restaurant week to the area and encourage others to check it out…for $8 Lunch/$15 Dinners OR $10 Lunch/$25 Dinners, a trip to Rockville’s Restaurant Week is worth checking out.
