Bold Bite Latin Salad, Fries and The Clubber sandwich

It has been a long time since I last ate at Bold Bite Market.  As a matter of fact, it has been a long time since I had lunch in Downtown Washington.  When the opportunity presented itself to revisit the fast-casual eatery, I jumped on it.  I left the house with a mission to go to the gym after lunch so I wore the applicable gym clothes hoping this would deter any bad eating habits.  From what I last remembered about Bold Bite, fries and hot dogs were in abundance on the menu.  Either things have changed on the menu or I simply ignored the healthy options when I was invested in fattening my waistline.  Salad options galore!  Good salad options, I might add.

I stuck with the Latin Salad, which would give me the fuel and fire I needed for the post-lunch gym session.  Tomatoes, roasted corn, red onions, avocado, queso blanco, chimichurri, tortilla strips and a house cilantro lime dressing make up the salad.  You have a choice of falafel, grilled chicken or steak for an additional $2.99 or $4.29.  I went with the falafel, which was a crispy, sweet delightful change to the old run-of-the-mill chicken.  My lunch date ordered The Clubber with grilled chicken and a side of fries.  Tender and juicy, the sandwich did not leave us feeling weighed down and anxious for a nap instead of heading back to the office.

I ate a good lunch and left feeling like I conquer the world!  No, not really but I did feel like I could conquer my afternoon date with the treadmill.  Lunch in the city, anyone??
