Cocktail of the Week: Orange Frost via Sagamore Spirit

[ 2 ] December 7, 2016 |

Orange Juice*Recipe courtesy Sagamore Spirit Rye.  Sweet and citrus meet in a glass.

Ingredients:

1.5 oz. Sagamore Spirit Rye

.5 oz. Orange Juice

.5 oz. Lemon Juice

.5 oz. Maple Syrup

Directions:

Add all ingredients to cocktail shaker over ice.  Shake and serve over ice.  Garnish with orange slices and dash of nutmeg.  Serve.

*Johnna’s tip:  I am the laziest mixologist on the planet, which is the reason why my Sagamore gets more heavy use mixed with ginger ale.  A little ginger ale, Sagamore, ice and a stir is all I need to get by in my cocktail of choice.  Sagamore has this hint of sweetness that does not need much help from sugary chasers.  Drink it alone or with the help of your favorite juices/sodas.  For the aspiring bartender in me, however, this Orange Frost is easy enough and combines flavors I like balancing out the acidity with the sweet rye flavor.  Cheers to a new holiday season!
