20161107_114602Having a baby soon?  Building a Healthy Child should be added to your reading list.  JKGF received a copy and could not put it down (*no expecting alerts here, just a really intriguing look into a babies diet).  In “Building a Healthy Child,” naturopathic doctor Melina Roberts shares a program that outlines ways parents can build a child’s healthy digestive tract throughout the beginning stages of life by giving them the right nutrition at specific times in their development.  In her book, Roberts shares healthy recipes categorized for children starting at birth, 6 months, 8 months, 10 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months and 3+ years.

Books like these are probably the reason I do not like sweets as much as veggies.  The doctor told my Mom when I was born not to feed me sugary foods during the first six months because it would “wake up my fat cells”.  I have to believe this is the reason I still give all of my Halloween candy away…
