It is that time of year when everything warm wins, which is why High Tea is ideal from October to mid-March for any of your celebrations.  Instead of rallying up the troops for a birthday outing to the wineries where everyone will be bundling up just to get a sip of wine, try the warm cozy dining rooms of these D.C. destinations for an elegant tea for the crew.  Tea for Two?

The Hay-Adams, at 800 16th Street, NW, 20006, will host its holiday tea service.  This special tea offers an all-inclusive table-side presentation of sweets and savory snacks and is available exclusively on Sunday, December 4, 11, and 18, with reservations available from 3 PM to 4 PM in the Lafayette Room.  This experience is priced at $50 per person, which includes a pot of tea from the Mighty Leaf Tea Company, along with a tiered tray of savory and sweets; $35 for children under 12, or $65 per person with the added glass of Taittinger Champagne (tax and gratuity not included).

The Willard InterContinental Washington, DC will host Holiday Afternoon Tea, in Peacock Alley.  The tea will feature a live harpist, an array of organic teas, festive tea sandwiches and pastries. Holiday Afternoon Tea is offered daily from 1pm to 4pm throughout December, excluding December 24, 25 and 31. Price is $52 per adult, $22 for children (ages 3-12).

The Park Hyatt Washington will host a new three-course table-side tea service in the Tea Cellar.  The Tea Menu offers savory bites, pastries, scones with house-made jams, and is available exclusively on Sunday afternoons, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  It is priced at $55 per adult and $30 per child between six and twelve years of age (tax and gratuity not included) and includes a freshly brewed pot of tea from the tea menu.  Guests can order additional pots of tea with prices ranging from $8 to $300.
