Products to Watch: Ketchung! Barbecue Sauce

[ 0 ] September 28, 2016 |

20160614_104133-1I used it all summer and finished a bottle at a time.  Ketchung! Sauce is the truth.  At first I had my reservations because every other sauce out there boasts how unique theirs are from the rest and then they end up tasting like Sweet Baby Ray’s or Heinz.  Ketchung! has broke the code on what “different” means where they have this hint of spice that not only brings the heat but intertwines this flavor in their sauces that I cannot say I have found anywhere else.

Created by Helen Chung, Ketchung! exudes the Korean flavors that it was intended to emulate which is why it has such a unique flavor.  Think your favorite Korean BBQ sauce meets traditional ketchup meets sriracha and you have Ketchung! in a bottle.  I am sure the chemistry behind the sauce is more complex than that but this is the direction it takes you in.  I paired Ketchung! with my grilled chicken leg quarters and am convinced I will not go back to whatever I used before.  The sauce provides this sweet, thick almost chunky layer to any dish.  I felt like I was tasting something out of my normal cookout routine but still reminders of summers past.

Anyone who can achieve bringing these flavors together in a bottle and standing out among those sauces that have stood the test of time in this country deserves a thumbs up.  This explains why Ketchung! Barbecue sauce is SOLD OUT, it is that good.
