Fall in the D.C. area has no shortage of events.  Here’s a quick roundup of what Washingtonians will be doing as the leaves change colors…

  • An Evening of Culinary Excellence is a food and wine reception to celebrate the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture.  The reception will feature tribute dishes and desserts by celebrity chefs Rock Harper (Winner, Hell’s Kitchen Season 3), Timothy Dean (Contestant, Top Chef Season 7), Jumoke Jackson (Contestant, Food Network Beat Bobby Flay) and Padua Player (Contestant, 2015 Food Network Holiday Baking Championship) paired with wines by Mouton Noir Wines, Flo Wine and Shoe Crazy Wine and P. Harrell Wines, all black-owned and cocktails by Ciroc ™ Ultra-Premium Vodka and Deleon Tequila.  Live entertainment will include the Marcus Johnson Trio.  Guests attending will receive a signed copy of the 2014 Fall print issue by Chef Joe Randall, a wine glass and gift bag.   • Carluccio’s Hosts Yoga Eats, Beats and Brews at Pike and Rose on October 1.  Carluccio’s, an Italian restaurant located at Pike and Rose in North Bethesda, will host Yoga Eats, Beats and Brews on October 1.  Join Carlucico’s for an hour of power yoga, presented by YogaLOVE, choreographed to the beats of live music by DJ M Dot.  Following yoga, you are welcome to nama-stay for a full brunch and enjoy 7 Locks Brewing pints and Carluccio’s coffee.

  • Taste of Bethesda returns on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 11am-4pm and will bring 50 restaurants and five stages of entertainment to Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle.  Taste of Bethesda is located on Norfolk, St. Elmo, Cordell, Del Ray and Auburn Avenues in the heart of Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle.  Five stages showcase musical and cultural performances, and a children’s area featuring art and craft activities, balloons and face painting will provide additional entertainment for young visitors.

  • Taste of DC (www.TheTasteofDC.org) will take over Pennsylvania Avenue on Columbus Day weekend Saturday, October 8 and Sunday October 9, 2016.  Attendees will be able to sample from more than 60 of the region’s most popular restaurants, taste over 50 brews in the Bier Garten, try more than 50 wines on the Taste of DC Wine Walk and enjoy nonstop entertainment on three different stages. Among the restaurants:  Todd Gray’s Equinox, Mastro’s, Ben’s Chili Bowl, Carmine’s,  District Doughnut, Sloppy Mama’s, Tortilla Coast,  Texas Jack’s Barbecue, Capital Grill and Barrel & Crow.

  • The All Things Go Fall Classic music festival will host its third annual event on Saturday, October 8 at Yards Park in Washington, D.C. The daylong celebration will feature fare from local vendors presented by The Infatuation, including Shake ShackBuredoTimber PizzaMilk CultTakoreanBeefsteakCompass Coffee and DGS. Music fans will enjoy special All Things Go-themed bites such as Timber Pizza’s “Squash Venesso” pizza, featuring smoked butternut squash and inspired by festival artist Sylvan Esso. Headliner Empire of the Sun gets the foodie treatment, too, with Takorean’s “Empire of the Ssam,” a hard taco shell filled with the food truck’s signature bo ssam pork.
