Dining Cliff’s Notes As We Creep Up on September…

1. The second annual Dine Out Tysons Restaurant Week, presented by the Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce, will run from Monday, August 22 – Sunday, August 28, 2016.  Local favorites such as Wildfire will participate.

2. Sakerum, a new sushi bar, Asian-Latin restaurant and cocktail lounge from Stephanos Andreou, will open a few blocks away from the intersection of 14th and U Street (2204 14th St NW) on Monday, August 22.

3. Art and Soul and the Liaison Capitol Hill DC invite you to their Rooftop Pool & Lounge Friday, August 26 for a taco extravaganza hosted by Executive Chef Douglas Alexander (who’ll be manning the grill) and DC Brau. Guests can also bring their bathing suits if they want to take a dip between bites. A $20 ticket includes:

  • Any combination of three tacos. Chef’s selections include: Cochinita Pibil, Al Pastor, Grilled Chicken, Carne Asada, and Braised Chicken Mole
  • An unlimited toppings bar
  • A DC Brau

Chop4. Dine Diaspora will host “Chop Bar – A Global Food Experience” on August 28, 2016 from 3 pm to 6 pm EST at Capital Fringe in Washington, DC.  Attendees will taste Caribbean-inspired bites created by Featured Chef, Jonathan Harris, while enjoying drinks and socializing with a diverse group of attendees.  Tickets to Chop Bar are available at www.dinediaspora.com/chopbar. 5. Macon Bistro & Larder, the French and Southern-inspired bistro in Chevy Chase, located at 5520 Connecticut Ave., NW, 20015, will host its second Bubbles, Oysters, and Brews party on Saturday, September 3, 2016 from 12 PM to 4 PM.  Priced at $35 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), guests are invited to celebrate the last days of summer on Macon Bistro’s 25-seat covered arcade and outdoor patio with all the bubbles, oysters, and brews they can eat and drink.

6. The newest location of the nationally acclaimed Uptown Alley concept will open its doors at the recently renovated Manassas Mall (8300 Sudley Road, Manassas, Va.) on Tuesday, August 23, at 11 a.m. The $11.5 million, 46,000 square foot entertainment and restaurant venue features 24 high-tech bowling lanes, a professional sound stage for live entertainment, three high-energy bars, laser tag, interactive games with prize store and Red Embers Bar & Grill, with a menu highlighting the best in Americana cuisine, created by award-winning Chef Brad Rishmany.
