The Capital Grille Sear Dry Aged Sirloin

Tyson’s Corner is making it enticing for the Washingtonian to consider this as another hangout headquarters.  The Metro has extended the Silver Line out to this part of Northern Virginia, making it a viable option for happy hour when you need to escape the usual suspect neighborhoods.  Besides the shopping, which used to be the central reason for visiting Tyson’s, the area now has a growing restaurant scene.  I recently visited restaurant veteran, The Capital Grille, located right outside of Tyson’s Galleria and am here to report it has set the standard for what to expect in this area.  Spacious dining and bar space with classic interiors, this area promotes the after-work drinks with coworkers or a large group of friends.

What to order by the bar?  The Sear Dry Aged Sirloin is a go if you are not ready to commit to an entire steak.  Paired with sweet chili onions and a wasabi oil, the flavors of the dry aged steak are brought to life with this prickly sweet pair.

Sip?  The “In Fashion” is The Capital Grille’s play on the “Old Fashioned”.  Sip slowly and be prepared to Uber or train it back.  It is on the strong side.
