Marcel's Cashew Crab Cake

Marcel’s Cashew Crab Cake

Marcel’s By Robert Wiedmaier is a veteran in this town.  The food, service and decor reminds you every time you visit why the French Belgian restaurant has been in the D.C. scene for 17 years.  The experience is impeccable and it is good to see the brunch is willing to evolve with the ever-changing D.C. dining scene without sacrificing its authentic shell.  For the first time in 17 years, the restaurant is now serving Sunday brunch.  If you know anything about the D.C. dining scene, then you are aware of the importance of brunch in this town.  Marcel’s is taking their piece of the brunch crowd pie by inviting patrons in for Sunday bites.

The three-course Sunday Brunch is available from 11:30 am-2:30 pm for $65 per adult guest and $28 for children.  Stars of the show?  The cashew crab cake is a must especially if you have a thing for crunch and the Maryland staple.  The Flourless Valrhona Chocolate Cake Caramel Ganache should be ordered for its appearance alone.  As shallow as that sounds, this is one of the most beautiful pieces of art on a plate and its decadence should be experienced by any true lover of chocolate.

Brunching in this town can get a little monotonous.  Glad to see Marcel’s keeping things fresh and showing us why they are one of the leaders in this scene.  Brunch anyone??
