It is hot and it is only going to get hotter as July rolls in, which means you should have a pool on your radar.  Memories of a recent trip to Vegas have me wanting to relive the constant stream of pool parties and sexy aquatic scene.  The District is upping the ante on trendy pools and party scenes with food and craft cocktails.  Here are our picks of the summer:

  1. Vida Penthouse Pool & Lounge at the Navy Yard: One of the sexiest scenes in the city, VIDA’s Penthouse Pool & Lounge boasts a 360-degree view of the city, a heated pool, rentable cabanas and daybeds, a full-service bar, and an intimate lounge area equipped with fire pits.
  2. The Liaison Capitol Hill DC Rooftop Pool: With Art & Soul downstairs and the views from the rooftop,

one could make a night of this experience.  The Liaison also boasts the largest rooftop in the city.

  3. The Capella Hotel Rooftop Lounge and Relaxation Pool: Infinity. Pool.  The infinity pool is everything!  Shocking that the District has one of these on the docket but we are happy to see Capella changing the pace.
  4. The Embassy Row Hotel Rooftop Pool: This one is a fave because it is not only open to guests of the hotel or includes any funky monthly fees.  For $25 anyone can get the experience with the (limited) guest passes available.
  5. The DNV Rooftop Lounge & Pool: Located at the top of the Donovan House Hotel, the DNV is one of the veterans in this rooftop pool game.  Best for after work drinks and/or second date link up.
