Seared Scallops at City Tap House DC

City Tap House has some new treats!  A few years ago, JKGF had doubts about this commercial building space, everything that entered that building seemed to self-destruct.  City Tap House is changing the energy in this space with a vibrant dining scene that boasts some of the best brews on tap in the city.  Besides the booming beer scene, City Tap House has an impressive menu that will make you opt for a table instead of sticking close to the bar for drinks only.  What do we recommend?

  1. The Ten Spiced Wings: Rubbed with 10 spices, topped with brown sugar and then fried to order, these are the things a true Tap House are made of!
  2. The Seared Scallops: Large diver scallops top a creamy pea filled risotto for a meal that will make you forget you are in the home of ales and suds.  Vegetarian?  Order without the scallops, you will not miss a beat.
  3. New York Style Cheesecake: I know, I know.  I should not go against the grain and recommend a cheesecake outside of the state of New York, but this one is pretty darn good.  Stashed in a miniature mason jar, the presentation alone will give the most loyal New Yorker temptation to try the dessert.
