Where I’m Eating: Blue Duck Tavern

Recently, I visited the Blue Duck Tavern for a special presentation given by Executive Chef Ryan LaRoche and Chef de Cuisine Brad Deboy.  This restaurant never seems to disappoint.  Located on the outskirts of Georgetown inside of the Georgetown Hyatt, it offers patrons the option of enjoying their meal inside their beautiful dining room with high ceilings or on the patio surrounded by fresh herbs growing for future consumption.  With beautiful weather on this particular day, I opted for the patio table.  I always jump at the chance to eat outside, especially when there is a nice breeze.  After the long, harsh winter we had, this was well overdue.  From that moment, the aromas led the rest of my visit where I was able to see the precision that was being put into every meal since the restaurant has an open kitchen.  As you know, ambiance is huge in my book, so I was able to check that gem off my list.  Next, I moved onto the food.  All the Spring Menu offerings were top notch, but check out my fav below.  It is Cornmeal Shortcake with Blueberry and Lemon.  It was a nice light touch to the end of my meal and absolutely divine!
