Sugar & Champagne Returns!

Sugar & Champagne Affair 2015The Washington Humane Society has served and protected animal welfare since 1870. In their 145th year, their annual Sugar & Champagne Affair honors those who campaign passionately against animal cruelty. Hosted by Equinox Restaurant & the Salamander Resort, the beloved event takes place at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center on February 4th, 2015.

Charity: Do you remember your first pet? Do you have one now? Or maybe you can’t own a pet because of specific reasons. Whatever the case, this event is all about the animals. Our favorite part is the award ceremony, recognizing those who truly have made a significant impact for our furry friends. All proceeds will benefit the animals and programs of the Washington Humane Society.

Entertainment: Oh just THE Tommy McFly from The Tommy Show on 94.7 Fresh FM

Food/Spirits: If there is one thing we know, the District loves to eat. The A to Z restaurant list is extensive with appearances by Trummer’s on Main, Sticky Fingers Bakery, Righteous Cheese, Mango Tree DC, and Co Co Sala to name just a few.

Not to Miss: We’re super excited as Todd & Ellen Gray present the Exclusive Experience. Limited to only 50 guests, those in attendance will have an opportunity to taste drinks from award winning mixologist Glendon Hartley, make your own truffles, and take home pies from Chef Joseph Paire. Additionally, another option is the VIP Chefs’ Tasting Room. Though the event is all about sugar and champagne, this savory reception by some of the District’s top chefs is not to be missed.

We hope to see you there and if you are attending and have a pet, they’re welcomed as long as they are not on a non-retractable leash!
