Happy Hour Buzz: DC Noodles

[ 0 ] October 10, 2014 |

U Street is one of those places that is not at a loss for happy hour locations, but it is always refreshing to find a new one in the neighborhood.  DC Noodles is back!  The restaurant alongside Utopia, had closed its doors awhile to renovate and with renovations comes new menus.  JKGF visited recently to get purview of what guests can look forward to on the new menu.  Here are our top nibbles of the night:

DC Noodles Summer Wings

  1. Summer Wings. You cannot go wrong with wings especially when sriracha is involved and I appreciate how DC Noodles did not overcook the bite-size food.
  2. Mushroom & Ricotta wontons. Deep-fried wontons are stuffed with two of my favorite ingredients.  If you are into ricotta or the like, then you will appreciate this one.  If not, steer clear.
  3. Chicken & Shrimp Dumplings. 1-photo 2Light and simple, these dumplings have a sweet aftertaste making them not so ordinary.
  4. Stir Fry Beef Ragu. Should you decide to stray from the regular happy hour menu, this is a dish to get into.  It is the direct point on the map where Italian meets Thai flavor for a hearty dish.
  5. Drinks have to be acknowledged during a happy hour post because, well, isn’t that the whole purpose of going?? The Chili-Rita is my number one suggestion.  Based on the fact that I can still taste the chili pepper planted dead in the center of this drink, if you are looking for something with a kick, start here.
