VinoFest DC, Can’t Wait Until Next Year

[ 0 ] July 1, 2014 |

Oh VinoFest DC, we’re so glad you are here. Held at Union Market, on of the best markets in the District, the festival brought out young and old alike. The line wrapped down the block, and it was warm. Yet, as you entered a complimentary glass of champagne beckoned your attention to tone down that thirst if only for a moment. Outside, food vendors dotted the open space. Ranging from Union Market’s own Rappahannock Oysters to newcomer Timber Pizza Company.

However, most attendees weren’t hungry just yet and were more interested in the bands playing on stage as well as what was happening just beyond what the eye could see. Walking up stairs covered in red carpet, I giggled as I imagined this is what it must feel to walk one; but, certainly without a cocktail in tow. Inside, tables with bottles upon bottles were sprawled spaciously across the warehouse. With Rosé to Shiraz to Sauvignon Blanc the selections didn’t disappoint.

As live music played in the background and excited chatter continued to grow, it became clear that VinoFest DC was a clear winner. Until next year…
