Cafe Dupont Chesapeake Bloody Mary

If you follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc, etc, then you know my love for brunch especially poached eggs.  Saturday does not feel complete without the ordering of some form of Eggs Benedict, mimosas and/or Bloody Mary’s.  Naturally once I got word and an invite to visit Café Dupont for brunch, I was in there “like swimwear”.  First things first:  their Chesapeake Bloody Mary is ridiculously good.  I am not a spicy hot girl but I like my Bloody Mary to have a little punch.   This one had just that and a kick too with their delightful garnish of a chilled crab leg.  The serving size was more than enough for me and for a Bloody Mary lover, you would be in dreamland.

I zig zagged across the menu in need of warmth on one of the coldest days in the District this Fall and ordered the French Onion Soup.  This is one of the best I have had in DC with an overwhelming amount of carmelized onions and an equal match of my favorite garnish: cheese.  Staying in the spirit of crab, Eggs Chesapeake followed with a topping of spinach and creamy hollandaise.  Next visit, I think I would go Eggs Norwegian where the crab did not veer from the typical recipe that is often found in the District brunch.

Café Dupont is one of my favorite locations to brunch in this area with plenty of natural light pouring into the open space.  Centrally located in the heart of Dupont Circle, it also makes for easy access to the Redline Metro.  Brunch in one of DC’s best neighborhoods?? Sure, why not.
