Wedding season is closing out and the holiday season will soon usher its way back in to our lives.  I must say I learned a lot over the past two years of going in and out of weddings.  Today I touch on what NOT to wear to the wedding.  I will start with one question to my Etiquette Tuesday viewers:  What is the one color you should not wear to a wedding?? WHITE. Cream.  Beige.  Basically, anything that might slightly resemble the bride.  It is her day! Please do not steal her shine by showing up in matching outfits.

I have attended a few weddings in the past year where at least one other person was wearing white besides the bride.  When the reception began, I honestly was slightly confused every time I wanted to pinpoint the bride in the room.  To some this is a no brainer, to others, this is why Etiquette Tuesday is here to save the day.  DO NOT…I REPEAT…DO NOT WEAR WHITE TO A WEDDING.  Unless the bride has explicitly expressed she will be wearing a gothic style wedding dress or metallic blue as the color of the wedding, in the words of Kendrick Lamar “Please don’t kill her vibe”.

P.S. Etiquette Tuesday readers:  Should someone show up on your lovely wedding day, have one of your bridesmaids stash a few of those party bottles of red wine behind the sweetheart table.  They may enter your wedding wearing all white but they will leave with a nice splash of red…
