The benefits of chocolate are making headlines on a regular basis, which is one of the reasons I wanted to see if I could finally convert to being a chocolate lover.  When Zoe’s Chocolate Co. offered an opportunity to try out their collection, I jumped at the chance.  Besides being the official chocolatier for events such as the 2013 Oscar Award Salon and 2013 White House Correspondents’ Dinner Lounge, Zoe’s has made a local name for itself showing up in Glen’s Garden Market and Periwinkle.  After the first bite, I understand how Zoe ended up in these high places.

The first bite led to finishing the entire box and following up with the Espresso Bar.  The Pinot Noir Fleur de Sel Milk Chocolate Caramel is by far my favorite with a smooth combination of liquid caramel and rich dark chocolate.  The fruity background made me curious for what else was hiding in these mini chocolate morsels.  The Dioynsus Baklava and Black Raspberry followed up as runner ups with flavors true to their namesakes.  I am impressed.  I might actually buy a box of chocolates now, which would never have happened in the past.

Zoe’s Chocolates opened its flagship store in Frederick, MD in 2011 and provides yet another reason I need to make a trip out to my neighboring suburb.  Chocolates, anyone?
