I recently picked up Red’s Chicken Burrito and Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla’s from my local Giant.  I was excited to try both products because I love Mexican food and I am open to eating anything that is all natural with no preservatives.  I prepared the Chicken burrito according to the package and patiently waited for my ginormous burrito to cook.  While reading the label as my burrito was in the oven, I noticed that the burrito didn’t have any cheese or salsa in the listed ingredients, which in my opinion is an important ingredient in any Mexican dish.

Once it was ready I took a bite out of it and noticed a lot of corn and black beans,  which was a good thing.  I had more of the tortilla with the first bite so with my second bite I was able to get more of the actual filling. Overall, I like that the burrito is big and potentially fulfilling but I thought it was a bit bland.  I felt the need to add salt to my burrito but decided against because it seemed to have enough sodium at 620 mg per serving.

Needless to say, I did not finish my burrito so I prepared the Quesadilla’s. I fixed them exactly as the suggested method printed on the label and I was presently surprise.  Thinking that the Quesadilla’s would taste similar to the burrito, I was surprised to find that they exuded an intense amount of flavor.  It was the perfect spice blend and had cheese coming out of it from the sides.  It tasted like a (good) restaurant quality Quesadilla. I would definitely recommend and purchase the Quesadilla again.  The burrito’s get a “meh” but I would give the beef another go around.  For some reason, I think the beef may offer the extra boost in flavor that the chicken lacked…
