The Chivito at Fast Gourmet DC

There are sandwiches and then there is the Chivito.  As the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink.  I will try to tell you about the Chivito but only taking a bite with truly do it justice.  Unfortunately, the Chivito should not be consumed on a regular basis with one to two times per year being my recommended dosage.  Those two visits to Fast Gourmet of the Chivito will make the temptation hard but your physician will love you for not sacrificing your cholesterol levels.  Now on to the details on why this one tops the charts.

The Chivito is made up of bacon, Black Forest Ham, sautéed beef tenderloin, green olives, mozzarella, mushrooms, a sliced boiled egg and mayo stacked on a lightly toasted roll.  Enough ingredients for you??  The first time I tried it I was reluctant due to the variety which did not sit well with my brain.  My mouth, however, loved this idea and have not only become Fast Gourmet’s Chivito sandwich number one fan but I actually had the sandwich saved as my cell phone screen saver.  Now that’s love.  I suggest consuming the Chivito after a night out with more than a few cocktails but it is perfectly fine when reheated the next day if your stomach cannot hold the ingredients during the night.  Why the nighttime suggestion?  It is an excellent source of soaking up the liquor from the night.  With a stack that high, how can you not sober up??
