This Weekend:

Mad Fox Brewing Company hosts its annual Cask Ale Festival on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 11 am-6 pm, on Market Square (directly adjacent to the restaurant’s patio).  Attendees will have the opportunity to taste 16 different cask ales from Mad Fox and regional breweries. Executive Chef Andrew Dixon has created a menu that includes such fare as oysters and grilled barbecue.  The outdoor event will move inside the restaurant in case of inclement weather.

The Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show takes over the Walter E> Convention Center. More details here.  Kudos to the winners of the Metro Cooking Show Giveaway, Enjoy!

Out & About

Zaytinya Turned 10:

Last week, I joined in the celebration for Zaytinya’s 10th Anniversary.  The Penn Quarter restaurant has become a staple in the Washington, DC restaurant scene.  Acclaimed Chef Jose Andres shared a toast to the festivities alongside over 100 friends, family and media.  The restaurant passed around the timeless classics on their menu including their housemade Hommus and Garides Me Anitho (*Sauteed Shrimp, dill, shallots, mustard and lemon juice).  Cheers!

Wine Week

The 2nd Annual Wine Week was a success.  We kicked things off at Sonoma Restaurant & Wine Bar for their kick off party which was filled with none other than wine and lots of bubbly.  Next year, we plan to actually take the time to learn a thing or two about the cheese pairings offered, this year we simply indulged.  Cheers!
