The Brunch Party

Fujimar Guacamole

After a dear friends birthday brunch at Pranna, I have literally been waiting with bated breath for DC to catch onto the NY swing of things.  By swing of things, I mean the new way to weekend brunch.  Fujimar got the memo.  The new way to brunch is the unlimited brunch followed up by the pumping sounds of a DJ leading to a full out party that lasts until nightfall.  Fujimar, in conjunction with DT Nation, recently kicked off their Sunday Brunch, which features a three-course meal and bottomless mimosa’s for $35.  The three-course brunch special is available from 11:30 am- 2:30 pm on Sundays and the bottomless mimosas go until 4 pm.  After the mimosas are done, the DJ turns up the volume for an evening of partying until 9 pm.

Fujimar Mussels

Aside from shaking a tail feather after the food and mimosas are done, Fujimar will offer games and interactive themes during the Sunday Brunch.  After visiting Pranna in NY and Fujimars newly launched brunch, I have to say:  this is a new trend that’s here to stay.  There are many times after too many mimosas, I want to do a little two-step but it’s a Sunday in the middle of the day and there’s nowhere to go.  Fujimar has come to the rescue, not only for my party buzz, but for my hunger fix as well.  Try the beef empanadas, the Mussels steamed in sake, cilantro and hot chilies, and the beer battered onion rings served with wasabi mayonnaise.  They will prep you for a day of drinking and dancing.  Cheers to the freakin’ weekend!

UPDATE:  Fujimar now offers the $35 brunch special from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and the kitchen is open until 5pm.  The party now ends at 7 pm.
