Looking to travel this summer? My suggestion is a Matchbox “world tour”! I attended the summer menu unveiling for this award winning restaurant and was blown away. Matchbox has three locations and this event gave the Executive Chef of each location the opportunity to showcase their culinary genius. Each chef not only delivered on flavor, but presentation was top notch.
The first stop on my “world tour” was China. Executive Chef, Cliff Wharton, of Matchbox Chinatown prepared a tempura tuna roll with arugula salad. The one-bite roll created a flavor explosion in my mouth with its balance of tuna, tempura flakes, and wasabi glaze. The arugula salad created the perfect aromatic ending.
Next, I took a plane to Italy. Executive Chef, Shannon Troncoso, of Matchbox Capitol Hill presented bacon wrapped scallops on a bed of fennel risotto. The perfectly cooked pan-seared scalloped atop the creamy consistency of the fennel risotto was superb.
My last stop was Africa. Executive Chef, Jon McArthur, of Matchbox Rockville served a grilled swordfish with cous cous. The swordfish and cous cous delivered a delectable finish to my trip.
My tour sadly came to an end, but I already have my plane booked for my next venture. Book your tour today. I will save a seat for you!
