22nd Annual Chef’s Best Dinner & Auction

On Tuesday, June 26, the Washington Hilton ballroom will be filled with over 50 of the area’s most notable chefs to  raise money for Food & Friends, a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C.  The chefs are participating in the organization’s 22nd Annual Chef’s Best Dinner & Auction presented by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Foundation.
Thanks to the efforts of this year’s Celebrity Chef Chair John Critchley of Urbana Restaurant and Wine Bar, guests will enjoy tastings prepared by some of the region’s top chefs, including: Anthony Lombardo, 1789 Restaurant; Jeff Tunks, District Commons; Alex Zeppos, Logan Tavern; James Huff, Pearl Dive Oyster Palace; Massimo Fabbri, Ristorante Tosca; and RJ Cooper, Rogue 24, among other notables from the D.C. dining scene. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to bid on various silent and live auction items featuring trips, one-of-a-kind experiences and private dining opportunities.All proceeds from Chef’s Best will ensure the delivery of specialized meals and personalized nutrition counseling to Food & Friends’ clients living with cancer, HIV/AIDS and other life-challenging illnesses. This year, supporters will help provide more than one million meals to nearly 2,900 individuals in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland.
Tickets to the 22nd Annual Chef’s Best Dinner & Auction presented by the NACDS Foundation are $250 for individuals or $2,250 for a table host and sponsorships begin at $850. The VIP Reception for sponsors begins at 5:30 p.m. Doors open for the main event at 6:30 p.m., with bidding for live auction lots starting around 8:15 p.m.

Johnna French is a Harlem NY native with deep roots in Panama, Washington, DC and North Carolina. All four places have heavily influenced her life and the foods she loves today. During the 2016-2017 football season, Johnna aired on Comcast Sports Mid-Atlantic (CSN) show, Redskins Life, as the weekly tailgate host. Johnna is currently a regular contributor to the FOX Baltimore Weekend morning show.
