It’s that time of year to step outside yourself and transform into your favorite alter-ego.  Halloween.  Washington, D.C. is the place to be during this time of the year because almost everyone is competing to see who can snag the best costume prize.  If you have not found a place to show off your best Lady Gaga impersonation, here are five spots worth trick or treating:

  1. Buddha Bar:  Come dressed in your best vixen or villain costume and you could win a $500 gift certificate to the restaurant.  Runners up will receive a bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne and third place will take home a bottle of Ketel One Vodka.
  2. Masa 14:  Tequila will be plentiful in the 74-seat lounge priced @ $5-$7.  Come with the best costume and you could win a $100 gift certificate to the restaurant.
  3. Hello Cupcake:  Submit photos of you dressed in your Halloween costume here by midnight on October 31, 2010 and you have the chance to win a cupcake a day until the end of 2010.
  4. Columbia Firehouse: After the hangover, a hefty brunch is in order.  Halloween brunch will include plenty of Bloody Marys for the adults and Brain Yogurt Parfait for the kids.
  5. DC Drag Queen Race 2010:  On Tuesday, October 26, Dupont Circle will be filled with costumed drag queens as they race down 17th Street for the D.C. Halloween Week tradition.
